MIRA - A Peruvian-Inspired Restaurant in Downtown Toronto
Mira is a Peruvian-inspired restaurant located in the heart of Toronto’s entertainment district. Mira’s smoky mirrored bar, their dim lighting and mix of rich colours and textures offers an escape from the day-to-day. Mira’s bold menu offers a creative take on authentic Peruvian dishes. Each dish incorporates spices and flavours from Latin America including their list of ceviche’s, saffron rice and delicious Peruvian desserts. The uniqueness of their menu is extended to their curated cocktail list which plays with traditional and unexpected Latin American flavours. Mira’s immersive atmosphere makes it the perfect place to enjoy their signature cocktail, the pisco sour with old and new friends.
For Mira it was very important that the servers, bartenders and barbacks have different daytime and nighttime looks. Creating multiple looks that were distinct but cohesive was a unique opportunity for Kloth Studio. In order to create a cohesive collection, Kloth Studio offered to use fabrics that fit Mira’s brand pallet and the restaurants atmosphere. The daytime look consists of a short sleeve shirt, the option of a skirt or chinos for the female staff and an option of short or chinos for the male staff. The mix of the crème shirt with the green skirt, shorts and trousers creates a relaxed daytime dining experience. The shirt is made from a very breathable crème coloured cotton linen fabric. The shirts pink blush contrast stitching, mixed brown buttons, front pocket and mandarin collar look casual but polished. The women’s a line shirt has hidden shorts underneath the skirt to keep the look elevated but functional. As well, the trousers have a pink binding at the cuff to add interest to the practical chinos.

For the nighttime look, Kloth Studio played with two different colours in Mira’s brand pallet. The nighttime look consists of a light blue long sleeve shirt and a navy-blue dress pant. For the nighttime look, the male and female staff wear the same uniforms for a more formal feel. The shirt has the same mandarin collar and front pocket placement as the daytime shirt, but distinguishing features were added to elevate the look. Not only is the shirt made in a different fabric, the buttons are extended down the shirt, the colour of the button changes from brown to a crisp white and the shirt has full sleeves. The nighttime shirt is made from a soft and comfortable 100% cotton fabric. The evening chinos are made of a poly viscos fabric in a shiny navy with do not compromise aesthetics for the comfortability of the staff. It is the subtle changes in the materials, details and styles of the looks that elevate the customers dining experience. Kloth Studio’s uniforms add to the bold atmosphere at Mira since when you go to Mira for dinner, the staff gets to dress up with you!
